Accra Hearts of Oak defeated struggling Techiman Eleven Wonders by a 1-0 at the Ohene Ameyae Park in Techiman after some poor defending from the home defence in the first half.

The win has taken the phobians top of the Ghana Premier League table for the first time this season.

Eleven Wonders started the game on the front foot but the phobians weathered the storm and took the lead after a dreadful defending from former Hearts player Tetteh Nortey in the 27th minute.

He allowed a long ball bounce in the box without dealing with it as Kwadwo Obeng Junior run from behind him to touch past the goalkeeper to give the phobians a 1-0 lead.

The home side came in very strongly in the second half and had a penalty shout turned down when a goal-bound shot struck the arm of Hearts defender Robert Addo Sowah but the referee turned down the penalty appeals from Eleven Wonders.
