Accra Hearts of Oak's challenging start to the season persisted as they played out a goalless draw against FC Samartex 1996 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.

The former league champions, who have managed just one victory this season, find themselves in a slump, going three games without a win.

Hearts of Oak initiated their season with a disappointing 1-0 loss to Real Tamale United on the road but rebounded with a 1-0 victory against Nsoatreman FC at the Accra Sports Stadium.

However, their performance took a nosedive after the defeat to Bofoakwa Tano and a lackluster home draw against Dreams FC.

With a game in hand, Hearts of Oak aimed to secure valuable points to pacify their fans, but a lack of spirit on the field left them with only one point on Saturday.

FC Samartex executed their game plan impeccably, maintaining a solid defensive line that frustrated Hearts of Oak. Goalkeeper Kofi Baah Hamza Issah denied what appeared to be the winning goal in the 67th minute.
