Police and men in Uganda united to participate in a walk organised by the civil society groups to create awareness on Gender based violence.

The walk involved men walking in heels and handbags for almost a mile to show their support in women by literally being in their shoes in the event dubbed “Walk a mile in her shoe”.

It was the beginning of 16 days’ appreciation of all female genders campaign in Uganda that has been started up by the Uganda Police.

The march was a project of Venture Humanity Inc., a U.S.-based nonprofit, and was sponsored by U.N. Women, a United Nations organization dedicated to gender equality.
