Kimathi Rawlings, the only son of Ghana’s late former President Jerry John Rawlings, has quietly wed his longtime partner in a private wedding ceremony that has only recently come to light through videos circulating on social media.
The ceremony, which took place at an undisclosed location, was attended by close family and friends, including his mother, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, and siblings such as Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, Member of Parliament for the Korle Klottey constituency.
Kimathi, dressed in a regal white Agbada, exchanged vows with his bride — a white woman whose identity has not been publicly disclosed. She wore a classic and stylish white gown, complementing the elegant and understated theme of the occasion.
Though the exact date and venue remain unconfirmed, the first footage of the ceremony surfaced online on July 7, 2025, drawing widespread attention and congratulations.
The guest list, though kept small, featured a blend of Ghanaian and foreign attendees — some clad in vibrant Kente and others in formal Western attire, likely representing the bride’s side of the family.
The Rawlings family has yet to release an official statement, but the emergence of the video has prompted a wave of well wishes from Ghanaians at home and abroad, many expressing joy at seeing a new chapter unfold in the legacy of the iconic Rawlings family.
