Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Teye Partey was on the scoresheet for his club Athletico Madrid as they beat Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow two nil in the Uefa Champions League on Tuesday night.

Its his first goal scored in this season's Champions League after their opening day home match against Juventus ended in a 2-2 draw.

He caps of a brilliant week in which he dominated, earning massive plaudits for his displays and showed his quality in the Madrid derby last Saturday with his burgeoning reputation on the rise.

Portuguese youngster Joao Felix opened the the scoring in the second half after a tight encounter in the first half which failed to produce any goals in the game sliding to the turf to parry home his own rebound which was saved by goalkeeper Guilherme.

The move was started by record signing Joao Felix who picked the ball on the left flank  before finding Diego Costa whose pinpoint cross was turned home the impressive Partey.

The Ghanaian midfielder who last season featured in and out of the side is now a permanent fixture in the Athletico Madrid side featuring in eight matches so far scoring two goals.

His performances have earned him a lot of praises with some Arsenal fans calling for their side to sign him and some reports also linking him with bitter rivals Real Madrid.
