Musician cum politician, Kwame Asare Obeng popularly known as A Plus has raised insults on Ghana Television (GTV) for misleading its viewers.

In what has gone viral on social media, GTV was showing a wrestler’s image and captioned it ‘Yaw Sarpong’, referring to the popular Ghanaian gospel musician.

Taking to Facebook, A Plus wrote “...All these nonsense and you still expect Ghanaians to pay TV license.”

The slammer's outburst followed reports the Chief Justice (CJ) Sophia Akuffo, has granted a request by state media, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) to establish a special court to deal with Ghanaians who fail to pay Television license fees.

The courts, located in all ten regions will sit every Thursday starting from 4th January 2018, to persecute persons who fail to pay TV license.

The controversial rapper in earlier posts via Facebook argued that “any government which charge its people import duty for TV sets and charge them annually for owing it, is very wicked and clueless”.

He has since affirmed he is ready to be the first Ghanaian to go to jail for nonpayment of TV license.

But in related development, a member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, has asked Ghanaians not to oppose the payment of the TV license fee.

“We should not be averse to paying TV license. I think it is an important good and can help GTV serve us and their staff much better”, he posted on Facebook.
