The 2016 special voting exercise began at the Klottey Korle constituency on a rather bustling note with hundreds of prospective voters turning up to cast their vote.

As early as 7am, the Osu Police Station was already energised as the security personnel, journalists and individuals who will be working for the Electoral Commission (EC) on December 7 queued to exercise their civic right.

The officers of the EC who are overseeing the exercise had set up before the stipulated start of poll at 7am.

The atmosphere was generally calm as the electorates waited patiently to take their turn.

No incidents of violence or irregularities were noticed as the EC officials went about their duties in a conducive atmosphere.

However, some of the prospective voters could not find their names on the special voters' list were redirected by the EC officials to go to their parent constituencies to check their details.

There were visible signs of frustration on the faces of the prospective voters as they left the designated polling centre disappointed.

The representatives of political parties were at the polling centre to monitor the process.
