Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku says the Black Queens are approaching the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations with renewed belief, as preparations continue ahead of the tournament in Morocco.

Speaking about the women’s national team, Okraku expressed optimism about the squad’s mindset, insisting that confidence has returned after a challenging period.

“The confidence is back, and I’m looking forward to an exciting tournament in Morocco,” he said.

The Black Queens are aiming to reassert themselves among Africa’s elite when WAFCON 2026 kicks off, following a renewed focus on team rebuilding, technical stability and improved support structures.

Ghana, who have a proud history in women’s football on the continent, will be hoping to translate that renewed belief into strong performances on the pitch as they compete against Africa’s top sides.

Okraku’s comments come at a time when expectations are beginning to rise around the team, with fans eager to see signs of progress and a return to the competitive standards that once defined the Black Queens.

As attention turns to Morocco, the GFA president’s message is clear: the belief is growing, the ambition is real, and Ghana are ready to embrace the challenge of WAFCON 2026.
