German-born Ghanaian winger Kwadwo Baah has expressed openness to representing Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars, as he weighs his international future.

The 22-year-old, who plays for English Championship side Watford, remains eligible to switch allegiance to Ghana despite having featured for both England and Germany at youth levels. Baah, a former Crystal Palace youth product, has yet to make a senior appearance for any of the three countries.

Speaking to watfordfc.com, Baah shared his thoughts on the potential paths ahead: “I could play for England, Germany or Ghana. Obviously with the football I’m playing I hope that I could one day get that recognition. I haven’t really made up my mind which one I’d want to represent! Hopefully the time will soon come when I have to decide.”

He also reflected on his multicultural background: “My dad played in Germany for quite a while and I was born in Stuttgart. I lived there for not that long, maybe one or two years, and then we went to Ghana for a bit before coming to England where I’ve been basically my whole life. I grew up in South Norwood.”

Baah enjoyed a strong 2024-25 campaign with Watford, scoring five goals and providing three assists in 31 appearances across all competitions.

His form has not gone unnoticed and could soon attract attention from national team selectors.

His comments will likely be welcomed by Ghana head coach Otto Addo, who continues to scout dual-nationality players to bolster his squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

With the race for qualification intensifying, Baah could soon find himself presented with a major decision.
