Public Relations Officer for Liberty Professionals, Mr. Yussif Alhassan Uthman has reiterated his team’s desire of developing talents rather than challenging for the league title ahead of the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League.

Since their formation in 1996, the Dansoman-based club have been one of the most professionally-run sides on the domestic scene churning out a plethora of talents who have gone on to attain both national and international stardom.

However, one of the key elements missing in their list of achievements is a league title and ahead of the upcoming season, the club’s PRO has intimated that his outfit is not targeting a league trophy.

Speaking to online sports portal SportsCorna.com in an interview, the club Public Relations Officer anticipates a good season for Liberty Professionals.

“Well. We expect the season to be a good one. We’ve been preparing for a long time now and the start of the season will mean we put everything we’ve been doing in the off-season to test”, Mr. Uthman stated.

Asked whether he sees the Dansoman-based outfit winning the league title, the Liberty spokesperson said “Every team is there to compete. I won’t say we are challenging for the league because that is not our focus going into the season. We are more focus on the development of our players".

“But that aside we also need to finish at a highly respectable position at the end of the season and that’s our focus for now” he concluded.

Liberty Professionals and 17 other clubs in Ghana's elite division have stepped up their preparations ahead of the start of the season which commences on the weekend of December 27-29.
