Accra Hearts of Oak is eying victory against WAFA on Sunday to put the icing on the cake to their League triumph, head coach Samuel Boadu has said.

The Phobians opened a 4-point gap on Sunday to win the 2020/21 premier League after their drawn game with Liberty professionals at the Accra Stadium.

With their last match being a journey to the dreaded Red Bull Arena, Boadu says he and his men are putting the celebration on hold until they are done with the stubborn WAFA team.

"We have won the league, we give thanks to the almighty and everyone in the Phobian family but we will not celebrate yet until our last game," Boadu said at the post match media conference on Sunday.

"We still have our eyes in that game, we congratulate ourselves for a good job but we need to finish it off at Sogakope.

"We really have to keep making it look better".

Hearts of Oak have a painful memory about the Red Bull Stadium following their 5:0 loss to WAFA in the 2016/17 league under coach Frank Nutall.

It was the last time the two teams have met in a league contest, with the 2017/18 and 2019/20 leagues being cancelled by the Ana's exposé and Covid-19, respectively.

WAFA lies at the third position with 53 points and would be fighting to stay in the top 4.

But with the Phobians already declared league Champions, the match at Sogakope comes more as a battle for pride than point-accumulation.

Coach Samuel Boadu has already lost 5:4 at the venue in the first round when he was in charge of Medeama.

But he believes going there with Accra Hearts of Oak, represents a different story and opens a chance for more records to be broken.

Coincidentally his first assignment at Hearts was against WAFA in Accra, were he won by 4-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

"Boadu is for records, check I have broken many records with my boys.

"We still have to go into the match for a win, after beating them 4 here.

"We need that win at Sogakope".

Boadu on Sunday made history after leading Hearts of  Oak to win the 2020/21 league, their first in nine seasons.

The Phobians last won the league in the 2008/09 season under Coach Frank Nutall, who returned to the club this year with an unsuccessful mission.

The coming of Boadu has seen the Phobians grabbed the league at the expense of their archrivals Asante Kotoko, who put a good fight until they were beaten in Accra.

Boadu's win against Mariano Barreto, probably,  made him top the League in a good state, but a win at WAFA definitely is the icing on the cake.
