Media personality Bridget Otoo has expressed disappointment with the Electoral Commission (EC) after it announced the rescheduling of the special voting exercise for people in the Eastern and Western regions to December 5, 2024.

In a post shared on X on November 2, 2024, Bridget Otoo criticised the EC's handling of the situation and urged voters to channel their frustration into voting against the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

She called for a change in leadership at the EC under a new Mahama administration.

"Special voting for Eastern and Western rescheduled to December 5, wow! Jesus! Please use all your anger to vote against this government! We need to clean the EC!" she said.

She also took the opportunity to attack the NPP government, alleging it has institutionalised corruption in the country.

"This government has undermined, reduced state institutions, and institutionalised corruption to the extent that shameless people are on this platform defending a corrupt and scandal-laden minister," she added.

Meanwhile, a large number of security personnel, journalists, emergency service staff, and Electoral Commission (EC) officials, among others, participated in the special voting exercise across 14 out of the 16 regions of the country.
