Coach of Accra Hearts of Oak Didi Dramani says Accra Hearts of Oak SC executed their game plan to perfection in their 1-0 victory over fierce rivals Asante Kotoko SC in a Ghana Premier League super clash at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium over the weekend.
The Phobians’ narrow win in Kumasi was built on tactical discipline and composure, with Dramani insisting his side focused on maximising their own strengths rather than being drawn into the occasion.
“I highly respect Kotoko,” he said. “They had their own schedules and strengths, so we focused on exploiting what we could and manoeuvring accordingly. The things we couldn’t control, we managed carefully.” He told Asempa FM.
The victory, achieved in a charged atmosphere at one of Ghana’s most iconic venues, underlined Hearts’ growing belief under Dramani’s leadership. Facing a Kotoko side determined to assert themselves at home, Hearts stayed compact, absorbed pressure and struck when it mattered most.
For Dramani, the result was less about emotion and more about execution.
“It was important we stayed organised and disciplined. In games like this, small details decide everything,” he added.
The win not only strengthens Hearts’ position in the league but also delivers a psychological boost in one of African football’s fiercest rivalries.
In a fixture often defined by passion and unpredictability, this time it was measured control that made the difference, and Dramani was clear about where the credit lay: preparation, belief and sticking to the plan.
