The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) says it will win elections in Ghana for three consecutive times following the introduction of the Free Senior High School education policy.

Introduced in September 2017 by President Akufo-Addo, the highly touted Free SHS has become an essential part of Ghana's educational system.

The policy's origination began as part of the President's presidential campaign during Ghana's 2016 election period.

Although the policy is well received by the Ghanaian people, some say it will be suicidal if the Akufo-Addo led government prides itself only on the establishment of Free SHS.

During the President's visits to the Manhyia Palace in November 201, the Asantehe, His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, advised him to out priority on economic development.

Although the Asantehene commended President Akufo-Addo for the introduction of the policy, he said Ghanaians will judge his government by its performance on the economy.

Former President, Mr. John Dramani Mahama who is seeking re-election has also criticised the NPP government for the poor implementation of the policy and has pledged to provide alternatives and additions if the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in voted back into power.

But, an outspoken member of NPP, Patrick Kwarteng Acheampong believes the policy is well structured and will shoot the party in ruling Ghana for the next three terms (12 years).

In a post on Facebook, he wrote, "We shall win elections with Free SHS for 3 consecutive terms."

Meanwhile, this year's presidential and parliamentary election is on Monday, December 7.
