Over 500 aspirants of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) battled it out over the weekend for the parliamentary ticket of the NDC for their various constituencies.

A lot of bigwigs and incumbent MPs fell flat on their face with some defeated aspirants blaming their failure on vote buying.

Among the losers who have blamed this phenomenon include the ‘bicycle riding’ Ras Mubarak who lost his Kumbungu seat after just a term with Victoria Hammer also blaming her defeat on her reluctance to pay money to various delegates.

The party says they will launch an investigation into these concerns raised during the Parliamentary primaries.

Deputy General Secretary Barbara Serwaa says that the party will open formal investigations into these allegations to establish the veracity or otherwise of it.

“As a political party I agree with her when she says it’s a problem we must find a solution to.

“That why we have so many measures to take care of As I said we are going to investigate how it happened.

“In future if we must punish people we are going to do that” she warned”

She said that members of the National Executives who visited other regions will be bringing their reports for a meeting where this negative phenomenon will be discussed.
