A member of the reunited Praye group, Nana Kwame, also known as Praye Tenten has expressed a contrary view on legalization of Marijuana in Ghana.

Speaking with Kwame B on the ‘Di Wu Lane Mu’ show on Kasapa FM, Praye Tenten holds the opinion that if Marijuana is officially approved to be used in the country it will be costly for the ordinary person to purchase.

“For me I don’t agree with the legalization of weed in Ghana. I’m saying that because weed is basically for the ghetto guys so if it’s legalized and repackaged well, it will be very expensive for them to buy.” Praye Tenten told Kasapa Fm.

Musicians like Blakk Rasta, Kwaw Kese, Stonebwoy, Ekow Micah, Ko-Jo Cue, Shaker, others have expressed their thoughts on the legalisation of the illegal narcotic marijuana.

Earlier Blakk Rasta had made headlines with his comments regarding marijuana saying that he could boost the economy of Ghana using the illegal narcotic.

The former head of the Narcotics Control Board, Mr Yaw Akrasi Sarpong was reported to have called for a public debate on whether marijuana, currently an illicit drug, be legalized in the country.

According to him there was a “virtual legalization” as the illegal substance was found in cosmetics produced in the country. He noted that marijuana is widely patronized by a lot of Ghanaians despite it is a banned drug.
