Weighing a whopping 93.5 kilos, Tejas had to completely change his lifestyle in order to get back in shape. He knew that nothing was impossible if one had enough dedication and patience to follow through.
From controlling his cravings for cheese to being really depressed with all the saggy skin, his weight loss journey is the only motivation you need to jump on the fitness bandwagon. Name: C. Tejas Occupation: Businessman Age: 23 years Highest weight recorded: 93.5 kgs Weight lost: 27 kgs Duration it took me to lose weight: 4 months The turning point: One day I was at my friend’s house when I decided to weigh myself on the weighing machine. When I asked his servant to tell me what the weighing scale read, he basically said, “Tejas, tu kitna mota ho gaya hai,” (Tejas, you have gotten really fat!). I felt incredibly insulted and devastated and that was the moment I decided to shed all the excess weight and get back in shape. My breakfast: I only have freshly squeezed juice for breakfast. My lunch: I have 2 chapatis with some vegetables. My dinner: I stick to home-made soups for dinner. I indulge in: I simply love cheese. Anything and everything that has cheese, I include it in my cheat day meals. My workout: I do an hour of HIIT (high-intensity interval training) daily. Low-calorie recipes I swear by: I swear by oats! Fitness secrets I unveiled: The diet that I followed worked like magic in helping me shed all the excess weight. Secondly and more importantly, we need to remember that patience is the key when you are on the journey to lose weight. How do I stay motivated? The day I started my weight loss journey, I discovered my passion for writing blogs while trying to keep a log of my diet and workout. The appreciation that my blogs receive is enough for me to keep going and continue work on my body. In fact, recently, I met an old school friend in the gym and the first thing he told me was how my blogs and photographs motivated him to hit the gym. Nothing could be more inspiring than seeing someone else get inspired by your fitness journey. How do you ensure you don’t lose focus? I have understood that being fit isn't something that happens overnight. It is actually a way of living, a lifestyle. What’s the most difficult part of being overweight? When I was overweight, I just used to feel really uncomfortable and heavy all the time. In addition to this, I was not able to find any good clothes in my size. What shape do you see yourself 10 years down the line? Now that I have shed all the excess weight, I want to get in a good shape and build muscles.

What are the lifestyle changes you made? I completely changed my lifestyle in order to lose weight. I followed my diet properly and did not skip the gym at all. I also made it a point to monitor my cheat meals very carefully.

What was the lowest point for you? I actually had two really low points during my quest to get a better body. The first one was when I had hit a weight-loss plateau and was not able to reduce any more weight.

Secondly, I had followed a completely vegan diet to lose weight. While I did lose weight, there was a lot of flabby, loose skin hanging from my body. I was really, really disheartened and did not know what to do. Thankfully, by following the right diet and training, my body is in a much better shape right now.

Lessons learnt from weight loss: I have learnt that if you dedicate yourself to doing something, absolutely nothing is impossible.
