When someone decides to lose weight, it is mostly driven by an incident which acts as the trigger. 39-year-old Bidisha Ghosh had a similar story which motivated her drastic before and after transformation. From a massive 92 kilos to a healthy 60 kilos, her weight loss journey is the inspiration you are seeking right now.

Name: Bidisha Ghosh Age: 39 years Highest weight recorded: 92 kgs Weight lost: 32 kgs Duration it took me to lose weight:3 years The turning point: When I was out shopping and trying different clothes, a salesman insulted my appearance, primarily because of my size. The whole incident was really humiliating and heartbreaking. My breakfast: 5 almonds, a cup of green tea and oats with milk. My lunch: Some rice, a bowl of daal, some vegetable curry and fish. My dinner: Same as lunch. I indulge in: I absolutely love gorging on sweets and have a thing for Biryani. My workout: I do strength training 6 days a week. Low-calorie recipes I swear by: A small portion of rice with fish. Fitness secrets I unveiled: You can eat everything but one must practice portion control. How do I stay motivated? My goal is to fit into clothes from different brands. This is what keeps me motivated to work really hard. How do you ensure you don’t lose focus? Whenever I feel that I am straying from my goal, I take a look at my old photographs to realise how far I have come. What’s the most difficult part of being overweight? The worst part about being overweight was that I was not able to dress up as I wanted for any social gathering. Ultimately, I ended up avoiding them altogether. It was really disappointing and heartbreaking.

What shape do you see yourself 10 years down the line? I want to be fitter and happier.

What are the lifestyle changes you made? I put a full-stop on the consumption of unhealthy, deep-fried food and white sugar.

What was the lowest point for you? It was when a doctor asked me to lose all the extra kilos before I could enter his cabin.

Lessons learnt from weight loss: This amazing journey has made me realise the importance of self-love. I also believe that no one can really motivate you to carry on with this fitness quest, other than you yourself. The fire is within you, channelise that and work harder than before.
