Administrative Manager of Bibiani GoldStars, Joseph Oti Manu, has expressed strong belief that his side is on course to successfully defend their Ghana Premier League title.
GoldStars, who clinched their maiden league crown last season under former coach Frimpong Manso, have bounced back from a slow start to the current campaign and now sit top of the table with 48 points.
Their rise has been fuelled by an impressive run of form, including a narrow 1-0 victory over Vision FC, which lifted them into first place at a crucial stage of the season.
Speaking to Citi Sports, Oti Manu credited the team’s resurgence to the impact of the current technical leadership.
“We believe as a team, it takes so much to just reunite us because since our new coach took over, whatever he’s done for the club is very massive and very transforming,” he said.
GoldStars have won five of their last six matches, a run that has strengthened belief within the camp that they can secure back-to-back titles.
“For some time now, in the last six matches we’ve won five and lost one; it tells you how much we are set for winning the league once again,” he added.
Despite their strong position, the club is maintaining a cautious approach, mindful of how last season’s title race went down to the final day.
“We are picking game after game, match after match. We are not in a rush. Last season, we won the league almost on the final day,” Oti Manu noted.
GoldStars will next face Karela United at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in their Matchday 27 fixture, as they continue their push to retain the title.
With momentum on their side and confidence growing, the Bibiani-based club appear firmly on track to make history with consecutive league triumphs.
