Do you remember the feeling when you are not able to sneeze but really badly want to? Isn’t it one of the most irritating things in the world? Some people feel so irritated when they are unable to sneeze that they put rolled paper, pen other things in their nose to sneeze.
So, the pain of the anticipation before the sneeze and then the feeling of relief thereafter is not comparable. But why does sneezing feels so good?
Read on to know the reason behind the euphoric feeling you get when you sneeze.
According to experts, muscle tension that builds up in your chest causes pressure and when you sneeze the muscles relax and the pressure is released. And whenever you release pressure, it does feel good. Think of the feeling when you pee after controlling it for hours or when you poop after you have built up a lot of pressure.
If you exercise every day; you would know sneezing is like a high that one gets after an intense workout. There are even evidences that sneezing leads to release of endorphins, which stimulate the pleasure centre of the brain. Why do we sneeze multiple times at once? Most of us sneeze more than once when we do. This happens because once a sneeze starts, you cannot stop it because it’s a reflex. The stimulation sends the signal to the brain that there is something irritating inside the nose and thus we sneeze.

Orgasm can trigger sneezingIn a study by two British researchers published in the Medical Journal, it is mentioned that there are cases of sneeze getting triggered by orgasm during sex.

This happens because all the signalling takes place in the autonomous nervous system and this system is somewhat mysterious and sometimes sends the wrong signal.

Verdict

There is not much research done on the topic but what we can definitely claim is sneezing does feel good.
