Black Stars winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has hailed helping Leicester City gain promotion to the Premier League as one of the best moments of his career.

The announcement of his permanent signing on a five-year deal from Sporting CP was made by the club on Tuesday.

The 20-year-old winger played a crucial role for the Foxes last season, contributing significantly to their promotion campaign.

"For me, [to win promotion] was amazing," Fatawu said. "It felt so good and it was one of the best moments in my career.

I feel so good and I just want to keep going."

Fatawu's performances in the Championship were pivotal, helping Leicester City to a title-winning season and securing their return to the Premier League.

Over the course of 43 appearances in various competitions, he scored seven goals, including a standout hat-trick in a 5-0 victory over Southampton at Filbert Way.

To celebrate his permanent signing, Leicester City went the extra mile by collaborating with local band and avid supporters, The Mercians. At a special ceremony held at King Power Stadium, the Coalville-based musicians surprised Fatawu with a unique rendition of the Blue Army's distinctive chant.

With Fatawu's addition, Leicester City fans are eagerly anticipating an exciting season ahead in the Premier League. Fatawu is set to join the squad immediately for pre-season in preparation for their Premier League return.

The Foxes will welcome Tottenham in their first game of the 2024/25 Premier League season.
