Afrobeats superstar Wizkid has achieved yet another historic milestone with his latest album, Morayo.
The 16-track project has taken over Apple Music, dominating the top 17 spots—a feat that underscores his global influence in the music industry.
Released on Friday, November 22, under Starboy Entertainment and RCA Records, Morayo is a deeply personal album dedicated to the memory of his late mother, Jane Dolapo Allen, who passed away in August 2023.
Reflecting on his creative journey, Wizkid earlier described it as his “best album yet” and a testament to resilience and love.
The album includes standout hits like Piece of Me, a collaboration with American artist Brent Faiyaz, and the dance anthem Kese, which have already set the stage for the album’s record-breaking reception.
Showcasing Wizkid’s signature Afrobeat sound, Morayo features themes of loss, joy, and celebration, with collaborations from local and international stars.
This release further solidifies Wizkid’s status as a global Afrobeats icon, continuing his legacy of transcending boundaries and breaking records.
