A 34-year-old woman, Maame Ekua Badu, has allegedly been murdered by her boyfriend, Jehoshaphat Adiako, at Yesunkwa, near Ataabadze in the KEEA District of the Central Region.
The incident occurred on August 2, 2025, leaving the community in shock and the victim’s family demanding justice.
According to her uncle, John Kofi Cobbinah, Maame Ekua had earlier complained about being abused and threatened by the suspect.
She even reported him to the police in June after the relationship turned sour.
On the morning of the incident, Mr. Cobbinah missed a call from Maame Ekua around 9:44 a.m. Shortly after, her boyfriend called claiming she had gone to pick okro from a pastor but had not returned.
When her family followed up, they found her body in a nearby bush, with injuries suggesting she was struck with a hammer.
She was rushed to Interbeton Hospital but pronounced dead on arrival.
The suspect fled the community after the incident and is currently on the run.
The case is under investigation by the Elmina Municipal Police Command, but the family has expressed dissatisfaction with the pace and handling of the investigation.
