” If you are a man enough trust me to try it we shall see who the man is in this country, you would understand how Akaida started in the world”.

The NDC can be proud today of building countless Markets across the country and how can we destroy what we toiled to build? No reasonable person on Earth than a lawmaker who switched from his legal obligations as a member of parliament to Attacking Men of God and Our comedians can continue to think this low, the statement emphasized.

There have been thousands of agitations across the country regarding the declaration of what the NDC termed as a “fraudulent and flawed Election” that has resulted in a series of demonstrations in the country.

The comments from The Assin Central Member of parliament have pushed the central Regional branch of the NDC to call on the police to arrest the Mp for threatening and Insulting former president Mahama and their National Executives including their Respectable National  Organizer.

In a statement on the development, the Central regional NDC said: “We urge the police, as a matter of urgency, to arrest Mr. Agyapong for his life-threatening and unfortunate comments which have the tendency to disturb the peace and cohesion of the country.

“While Kennedy Agyapong has been known to survive on insults and anti-democratic conducts in the public space, a direct threat to cause harm to lead political figures in this country is one mile too far especially with his recent past in focus – where he threatened, on a live TV program, the life of a renowned journalist, Ahmed Suale, for which the latter was subsequently murdered in cold blood.”

“The NDC is a democratic party and believes in the power of the state to rein in characters like Kennedy Agyapong. We have, however, noted with concern, the tendency of some officials and institutions of the state to pander to partisan political patronage against the direct mandate bestowed on them by the 1992 Constitution. We want to see the police service discharge its mandate impartially on this matter and bring Mr. Agyapong to book in order to gain the trust of the masses,” the statement added.
