The Ghana Highway Authority (GHA) has responded to allegations made by Member of Parliament Samuel Nartey George regarding operations at the Akom Axle Load Station.
The GHA clarified that the claims made on TV3's "The Key Points" on December 14th do not reflect its operational integrity.
A spokesperson emphasized the GHA's commitment to transparency, accountability, and a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption.
The authority also addressed specific allegations, explaining that the supervisor in question did not face dismissal but resigned temporarily, and was not reappointed later for other reasons.
Investigations have been launched to maintain the integrity of the Axle Load Station, with enhanced supervision and reinforced protocols in place. The GHA thanked the public for their understanding.
