The Vice President and Flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has said that former President Mahama is afraid of debating him and has run away.
Following calls by Ghanaians for a debate between the two, and Dr. Bawumia's personal challenge to his contender for a live debate on issues, Mahama had been coy over it, until he confirmed a few days ago that he wont debate the Vice Presidemt because the Vice President is "not at his level."
Dr. Bawumia has replied the former President in the most emphatic manner, stating that Mahama is afraid and has run away like "nkoko nketenketen" (chicks).
"Mahama is saying that during his time, he did better than us and I told him that if he really believes he has superior records, he should come for us to have a debate, a mano a mano, man to man. He should come for a debate: he should not be afraid," Dr. Bawumia said when he addressed a huge crowd at Nkawkaw
"But he is really afraid. He is afraid so he is running away like nkoko nketenketen."
Nkoko nketenketen has be one synonymous with Mahama, after the former President promised to support the youth to engage in small poultry farms by giving them small chicks.
However, the promise appears to not have gone down well with many, and it has rather become a subject of mockery within the political terrain.
The huge crowd at Nkawkaw cheered loudly when Dr. Bawumia used it in his address to reply Mahama.
