Blue Dreams Network, an event planning company, is set to organise a peace walk to promote peace and unity among the youth before the Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
The first event would take place on August 27 in Koforidua; the next event would be held at Kumasi on September 24, followed by Cape Coast on October 16.
It would then come to the Accra on October 29 and end at Tamale on November 19.
The event is designed to encourage large youth participation in nation building and also to give a new meaning to the election year by creating a platform for people to interact as they walk and promote peace.
Speaking at the launch ceremony in Accra, Mr Edmund Kwabena Ankobea, the Public Relations Officer of Blue Dreams Network, said: “We need peace everywhere in society so we can live. When there is peace, it enhances nation building. We want to tell the world that when it comes to unity, despite the differences, we are one Ghana.
“Since we are in an election year and with the youth playing a major role, we have taken it upon ourselves to undertake a peace walk. Every thoughtful citizen who dislikes war and wishes to bring peace should begin by examining his own attitude towards the possibility of peace here at home; we have no other home.”
Mr Ankobea urged Ghanaians to watch their utterances irrespective of the platform they find themselves.
He appealed to all stakeholders in the political dialogue to support the initiative, adding that Ghana will have a successful election due to our strong commitment and united leadership.
