National Security adviser under the late John Evans Atta Mills administration, Brigadier General Joseph Nunoo Mensah has opined John Dramani Mahama did what he could when he became President of Ghana; and for that matter he [JM] should step down from the flagbearership contest to pave way for others.

The former President recently announced his decision to seek election as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer for 2020.

But commenting on the issue on a local radio station in Accra, Brigadier Nunoo-Mensah said “he should know that he has done his part and must leave the stage for others to also come and play their part”.

Brigadier Nunoo-Mensah was obviously not enthused with the former President's opinion that he [Mahama] is seeking a second coming to "rights the wrongs of the past".

According to Mr Nunoo-Mensah, he would only side with the former president if he could bold enough to outline those wrongs he wants to come back to correct.

“I hear John Mahama saying he wants to come back to correct errors, he should tell us the kinds of errors he wants to come back and correct”, he said.
