I’m not aware of any ‘last minute contracts – Hanna Tetteh

Spokesperson of the National Democratic Party transition team Hannah Tetteh has refuted claims of alleged last minute contracts being dished out by the outgoing NDC administration.

The representative of the president-elect’s transition team Yaw Osafo Marfo raised concerns earlier about rumours of the contracts being given out by the outgoing government to their party loyalists days after losing the elections to the NPP.

However speaking on Wednesday after the plenary session of the transition team, Miss Hannah Tetteh denied knowledge of any last minute contracts being awarded or government assets being sold off by her party.

She however admitted seeing advertisements in local newspapers for the recruitment of people for the Ghana Armed Forces but noted that the incoming government will have the responsibility of making the recruitments since the they will be in power by the time the recruitments will be confirmed.

“I am not aware of any contracts being awarded, I am not aware of the sale of government properties.” she said

She was of the view that any concerns raised by the NPP transition team will have to be addressed to ensure parity.

“The question really is to make sure that whatever exercise takes place, takes place in a transparent manner and that if there are any concerns that the transition team wishes to raise, one would hope that it will be addressed,” she added.

Hannah Tetteh was the member of parliament for Awutu-Senya West constituency before being replaced by George Nenyi Andah who won the parliamentary elections in that constituency in the just ended elections.
