Kofi Akpaloo reportedly detained by EOCO

Kofi Akpaloo, presidential candidate and leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), has allegedly been taken into custody by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
According to family sources, Mr. Akpaloo was picked up from his residence in Kumasi, though the reason for his detention remains unknown. They also stated that his current whereabouts have not been disclosed, adding to growing uncertainty surrounding the incident.
As of now, EOCO has not released an official statement regarding the matter, leaving the public and political observers in the dark about the circumstances of his reported arrest.
Mr. Akpaloo, who contested the 2024 general elections, is a familiar figure on Ghana’s political scene. Though his party remains relatively small, it has gradually gained national visibility, particularly through campaigns focused on youth-oriented policies.
