Delegates, not MPs, will decide NPP’s flagbearer – Bryan Acheampong

NPP flagbearer aspirant Dr Bryan Acheampong has reminded party members that it is the delegates—not Members of Parliament—who will ultimately decide the party’s next presidential candidate.
During his constituency tour in Achiase, Eastern Region, the Abetifi MP responded to a recent press conference by the Bawumia campaign team, which announced that 15 out of 23 MPs in the region had declared support for the former Vice President.
Dr Acheampong dismissed the significance of the endorsements, stressing that the real power lies with the grassroots.
“There are 20,000 delegates in this region who will cast their votes. Compared to them, 15 MPs make little difference. The true strength of our party rests with the base, and that base is with me,” he told enthusiastic supporters.
He emphasized that his campaign is built on broad grassroots backing, which he believes reflects the true will of the NPP.
Reaffirming his vision of renewal and inclusiveness, Dr Acheampong promised to empower the rank-and-file of the party and ensure every delegate feels represented in the decision-making process.
