The Convention People’s Party (CPP) has denied any involvement in a petition to remove President John Mahama from office.

In a statement signed by CPP Chairperson Patrick Nelson Sogbodjor, the party said it has not sanctioned the move and described attempts to link it to the petition as unfounded.

The CPP clarified that its former flagbearer’s running mate in the 2024 elections, Wayoe Gjanamanti, acted without the party’s knowledge or approval in making the claim about the petition.

The party urged the public to disregard any such associations and reaffirmed its commitment to its core principles and values.
