GN Savings and Loans likely to reopen before end of 2026 – Dr Nduom

President of Groupe Nduom, Dr Nana Kweku Nduom, has expressed confidence that GN Savings and Loans could resume operations before the end of 2026 following the restoration of its licence by the Court of Appeal.
Speaking in an interview on Accra-based Channel One TV, Dr Nduom stated that the reopening of the institution would depend on the completion of the required regulatory approvals and administrative processes.
Although some procedures are still pending, he indicated that he remains optimistic the company would return to operation within the year.
“I think it would be this year. I think maybe in the quarter. I think before the end of the year will be a very safe estimate. Before September will be somewhat ambitious,” he said.
His remarks come after the Court of Appeal overturned an earlier High Court ruling that had affirmed the revocation of GN Savings and Loans’ licence during Ghana’s financial sector clean-up exercise.
The appellate court further directed that all assets belonging to the company be returned to its original owners and ordered that management control be restored to the former leadership, clearing the path for a phased reopening of its branches.
GN Savings and Loans was among several financial institutions affected by the 2019 banking sector reforms, which saw the revocation of licences and significant restructuring across Ghana’s banking and savings and loans industry.
