Ghana Football Association has officially unveiled the draw for the 2026 Elite U15 Boys Championship, setting the stage for another major youth football competition aimed at identifying and developing the next generation of Ghanaian football talent.

The tournament, which forms part of FIFA’s Talent Development Scheme, is scheduled to run from May 29 to June 3, 2026, at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence.

The championship is expected to bring together some of the most promising young footballers from across the country in what has become an important platform for talent discovery and national team development.

Regional Rivalries Take Centre Stage

The draw has produced two highly competitive groups featuring regional select sides and elite academy teams.

Group A consists of Ashanti Region, Eastern Region, Volta Region, Northern Region and Western Region alongside elite academy representatives from Achimota School and Bolgatanga.

Group B features Greater Accra Region, Central Region, Brong Ahafo Region, Upper West Region and Upper East Region together with elite academy side Prempeh College.

Football followers and talent scouts are expected to closely monitor the tournament as several young prospects attempt to make strong impressions on coaches, selectors and national youth team officials.

Tournament To Strengthen Talent Pipeline

The Elite U15 Championship has increasingly become a critical component of Ghana’s football development structure, with organisers viewing the competition as a long-term investment in the country’s football future.

The initiative aligns with FIFA’s broader Talent Development Scheme, which seeks to improve youth football structures and provide pathways for young players to progress into elite football environments.

Over the years, Ghana has produced several top footballers through youth development systems, with many former juvenile stars eventually progressing into the national teams and professional clubs abroad.

Search For New Stars Intensifies

As the third edition of the competition approaches, anticipation continues to build over which young talents will emerge as standout performers.

The tournament is expected to provide a unique opportunity for players to showcase their abilities while competing against some of the best young footballers from across the country.
