Asantehemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III passes on at 98

The Oyoko Royal Family formally informed the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, of her passing during an emergency meeting of the Asanteman Traditional Council held on Monday, August 11.
Born Nana Ama Konadu, the late Queen Mother was the 14th Asantehemaa and the biological sister of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. She ascended to the stool five years ago, following the death of her mother and predecessor, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II.

Though official details remain limited, family sources indicate that she passed away in the early hours of August 7, 2025.
The Manhyia Palace is expected to formally announce her passing and release details of funeral arrangements after completing the customary royal protocols and traditional rites required before such news is publicly declared.
Nana Konadu Yiadom III’s passing marks the end of an era for Asanteman, with tributes expected to pour in from across the country and beyond in the coming days.
