Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi has been re-elected on the FIFA Council for a second term after winning in the FIFA elections in Ethiopia’s capital Addis Ababa on Thursday.

The Ghanaian saw off competition from Tanzania’s Leodegar Tenga by securing 33 votes as against Tenga’s 20 votes.

Nyantakyi’s vixtory meant he will be on the FIFA Council for another four years (2017-2021) after serving 6 months in his previous term.

Mr Nyantakyi secured the mandate after voting by the 54 Caf member federation on Thursday.

The election of Nyantakyi and Constant Omari of DR Congo was confirmed on Thursday after the pair had earned enough votes in a four-candidate contest.
