German-born Ghanaian forward Daniel Kofi Kyereh made his maiden appearance for the Black Stars on Friday at the Cape Coast Stadium in the 2022 World Cup qualifier opener against Ethiopia.

The 25 year old St. Pauli forward made his debut when he was introduced into the game in the 28th minute as replacemenr for the injured Jeffrey Schlupp.

Schlupp suffered a suspected hamstring injury early in the first half of the match and was taken off to be replaced by the German born Ghanaian forward.

The St Pauli forward was handed a late call up after Sturm Graz striker Kelvin Yeboah snubbed Ghana and decided to play for the Italy U-21 national team.

He has been in very good form for lower tier German side St. Pauli since the start of the 2021/2022 season.

Kyere has scored once and provided 3 assists in 5 appearances for his side in the German second tier league.
