Didier Drogba confirms he will miss Impact’s playoff game
Former Chelsea and Ivory Coast player Didier Drogba has revealed he will not be available for Montreal Impact’s Eastern Conference semifinal game on Sunday against the New York Red Bulls due to a back injury.
The 38 year old confirmed on his twitter page that he will be missing the game on Sunday due to an injury he has sustained on his back.
This comes after the stalwart potent goal poacher made headlines for allegedly refusing to partake in his side’s game against Toronto FC after he learned he was being omitted from Impact’s starting line up for the third time in a row.
He was fined by MLS as a result for being absent without permission.
The striker’s unavailability for the New York Red Bulls game has sparked a debate as to whether there is indeed an injury or just an excuse to miss the game.

Drogba has recorded 10 goals and 6 goals in 22 games for Impact this season.
Italian forward Matteo Mancosu is expected to start against the Red Bulls on Sunday in Drogba’s absence.
