GPCC yet to receive official directive on prophecy guidelines

The Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) has clarified that it is yet to receive any formal communication from the Office of the Presidential Envoy for Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations regarding the recently proposed review of prophecies deemed to have national significance.
This comes in the aftermath of a viral wave of social media videos following the tragic August 6 helicopter crash, which claimed the lives of eight individuals, including two cabinet ministers. In the videos, several self-styled prophets claimed to have foreseen the fatal incident through visions, alleging their warnings were ignored.
In response, the Office of the Presidential Envoy issued a public call on Sunday, August 10, urging religious leaders to submit any prophecies or spiritual insights relating to prominent political figures, national security, or public order through formal channels.
Speaking to Citi News on the same day, GPCC General Secretary, Apostle Immanuel Tettey, confirmed that the Council has not yet been officially contacted.
“GPCC normally will not have such controversial prophecies in the public domain. We have spoken to our member churches and leaders. If it is written to us, we will seek clarification with the Office and know the way forward,” he stated.
The Council reiterated its commitment to responsible spiritual leadership and said it would determine an appropriate response upon receipt of a formal request from the relevant authorities.
