Kantanka Family Thanks Ghanaians for Support at Apostle Kwadwo Safo’s Final Rites
The family of the late Apostle Emeritus Professor Ing. Kwadwo Safo, alongside the management and members of the Kristo Asafo Mission, has expressed deep appreciation to Ghanaians for the overwhelming support and goodwill extended to them during the funeral rites of the renowned industrialist and religious leader.
The family’s gratitude was conveyed by his daughter, Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo, at a thanksgiving service held at the Prempeh Assembly Hall in Kumasi to mark the conclusion of the funeral ceremonies.
Speaking to a large gathering of Kristo Asafo members, sympathisers, friends and admirers of the late Apostle, Adwoa Safo praised Ghanaians for standing by the Kantanka family throughout the difficult period.
She said the support from individuals, institutions, traditional authorities, religious organisations and the wider public had offered the family considerable comfort while helping to give the late Apostle a dignified final farewell.
The thanksgiving service was attended by several prominent personalities, including former Vice President and NPP flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who paid tribute to the late Apostle.
Dr Bawumia described Apostle Safo as a father figure who treated him like one of his own sons and regularly offered him guidance, encouragement and counsel.
He highlighted the late industrialist’s strong conviction that Africans possessed the ability to solve their own challenges, create opportunities and drive development through innovation and self-confidence.
According to Dr Bawumia, Apostle Safo’s life was a testament to the power of entrepreneurship, determination and the pursuit of homegrown solutions capable of transforming society and advancing Africa’s development.
He attended the ceremony with former Chief of Staff Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, former Kufuor administration Minister of State S.K. Boafo, former Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive Sam Pyne, and other dignitaries.
A notable moment during the service came when a rainbow appeared in the sky, drawing the attention of worshippers and generating excitement among the congregation.
Some members responded with prayers and viewed the occurrence as a symbolic and comforting moment as the family brought the late Apostle’s funeral rites to a close.
The thanksgiving service ultimately provided an opportunity for the Kristo Asafo community and sympathisers to celebrate the life and legacy of Apostle Kwadwo Safo, whose contributions to religion, technology, industry and national development have left a lasting imprint on Ghana.
