Ken Agyapong in trouble again – TESCON deputy drags him to NPP disciplinary committee over anti party conduct

Former NPP MP and flagbearer aspirant Kennedy Agyapong has been dragged before the party’s disciplinary committee over alleged anti-party conduct.

The petition was filed on 18 June 2026 by Charles Opoku, Deputy National Coordinator of TESCON, the party’s student wing. Opoku accused Agyapong of a “pattern of misconduct” that has brought the NPP into disrepute.

The dispute began earlier this week when Agyapong clashed with his own party over the Afari Military Hospital. He accused the NPP of neglecting the project and failing to advance its completion during 8 years in office. The party has since rejected the claim, and fact-checkers have labelled it false.

Following the clash, Agyapong granted media interviews in which he slammed the party again and threatened to “expose” the NPP and some of its members if provoked.

In his petition, Opoku said Agyapong has repeatedly made public statements against the NPP and acted contrary to official party positions. He argued this violates Article 3 of the NPP Constitution, which requires members to “be truthful and loyal to the party” and to “protect and promote the good name of the party.”

Citing evidence attached to the petition, Opoku referenced Agyapong’s criticism of the NPP Minority Caucus on the Afari Hospital, describing the comments as “outright lies.” He also cited Agyapong’s “explosive” interview where he threatened to expose party members.

Opoku is urging the party’s relevant bodies to investigate Agyapong’s conduct and make appropriate recommendations “in the interest of the party.”
