Black Queens forward Doris Boaduwaa has thrown her support behind Ghana captain Jordan Ayew following criticism from fans after the Black Stars’ performance against Panama.

Ayew endured a difficult outing in Ghana’s narrow victory and was substituted late in the game, shortly before Caleb Yirenkyi scored the decisive goal. The striker’s display sparked widespread debate on social media, with some supporters calling for him to be dropped to the bench ahead of Ghana’s crucial clash against England.

Boaduwaa, who has also experienced criticism during her career, took to Instagram to encourage the Black Stars skipper, urging him to remain focused despite the backlash.

“Dear Jordan Ayew, keep your head up. Every great player faces difficult moments, but setbacks do not define your journey,” she wrote.

“You have carried the hopes of many, represented your nation with pride, and inspired countless young footballers through your dedication and hard work.”

The Black Queens attacker praised Ayew’s leadership and resilience, expressing confidence that he would overcome the current criticism.

“Champions are not measured only by victories but by how they respond to challenges. Stay focused, keep believing, and continue giving your best. Your experience, leadership and resilience are valuable, and brighter moments are still ahead,” she added.

Boaduwaa concluded her message with a verse from Isaiah 40:31, writing: “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles.”

She ended with a message of national support, saying: “Ghana believes in you. Keep fighting, keep leading and keep shining.”

The Black Stars will now turn their attention to Tuesday’s decisive encounter against England in Boston, where a positive result could secure Ghana’s place in the last 32.
