LIVE UPDATES: Foreign dignitaries, Presidents arrive for Akufo-Addo inauguration

A number of invited dignitaries and Heads of States from around the world have begun arriving Ghana’s capital Accra ahead of Saturday’s investiture of President-elect, Nana Akufo-Addo.

At a press briefing earlier this week, the Presidential inauguration subcommittee announced that 11 Heads of State have confirmed attending the swearing in of the 5th President of the 4th Republic.

The Presidential ceremony that will see the investiture of Nana Akufo-Addo and his vice Mahamadu Bawumia comes off at the Black Stars square from 8am on Saturday, January 7, 2017.

From noon Friday, the following heads of State and country representative have touched down at the Kotoka International Airport for the ceremony marked to be attended by over 6,000 people.

 

Dignitaries:

Egdar Lungu – President, Zambia

Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo – President, Equatorial Guinea

Uhuru Kenyatta – President, Kenya

Ernest Bai Koroma – President, Sierra Leone

Idriss Déby – President, Chad

Hailemariam Desalegn – Prime Minister, Ethiopia
