Mahama appoints eight new ambassadors and high commissioners

President John Mahama has nominated eight individuals for ambassadorial and high commissioner roles in a new round of diplomatic appointments.
This follows consultations with the Council of State, according to an official letter from the Office of the President dated July 21, 2025.
The nominees and their respective postings are as follows:
- Alhaji Abdul-Rahman Harruna Attah – Republic of Namibia
- Kojo Choi – Republic of South Korea
- Dr. Kwame Ampofo – Hungary
- Mona Helen Kabuki Quartey – Italian Republic
- Magnus Kofi Amoatey – Democratic Republic of the Congo
- Kenneth Akiibate – Burkina Faso
- Said Saleh Sinare – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
- Paul Evans Aidoo – Republic of Kenya
In addition to the new appointments, the President has directed that Mr. Benedict Batabe Assorow replace Mrs. Satireh Dorcas Ocran as Ghana’s Ambassador-designate to the Vatican City State.
The letter, signed by the Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama, instructed the Minister of Foreign Affairs to initiate the necessary procedures to ensure the timely appointment and deployment of the nominees.
