Napoli have entered into negotiations with AC Milan for the transfer of United States international Yunus Musah, according to Fabrizio Romano. The 22-year-old midfielder, who is of Ghanaian descent, is seen as a key target for new Napoli manager Antonio Conte, who is aiming to revamp the squad ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Conte is reportedly a strong admirer of Musah’s versatility and energy in midfield, and the American is said to be enthusiastic about the proposed move.

Personal terms are not expected to be a stumbling block. Musah joined Milan just last summer from Valencia for €21 million and made 80 appearances across all competitions, registering five assists.

Despite having four years left on his current contract, Musah could make a quick switch to Napoli’s Diego Armando Maradona Stadium as Milan continue their summer reshuffle.

The Rossoneri have already sold Tijjani Reijnders to Manchester City, while Chelsea have withdrawn from talks for goalkeeper Mike Maignan.

Musah, who has 47 international caps and one goal for the USMNT, would bring dynamism and tactical flexibility to Conte’s midfield.

If completed, this transfer would mark one of Napoli’s most significant signings as they aim to bounce back from a disappointing season.
