Radio presenter Antwi Bosiako reportedly arrested on air over alleged fraud

Takoradi-based radio presenter Patrick Nana Akwasi Antwi Bosiako has reportedly been arrested by the police over allegations that he sold broadcast equipment belonging to Western 100.9 FM, a station operated under the Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN) Ghana.

Bosiako was reportedly picked up on Friday, August 7, 2026, while presenting his morning programme at Almighty 103.7 FM in Takoradi.

According to information circulating within media circles, the arrest occurred during the live programme, with police officers said to have taken the presenter into custody.

A report shared on Facebook by Offei Wonuanie, a Freedom Radio presenter and media insider, claimed that Bosiako was taken to the Kwesimintim Police Station following his arrest, where he was reportedly being held as investigations continued.

The allegations centre on several pieces of broadcasting equipment said to belong to Western FM, including an Oxygen 4 console, a 5K transmitter and a four-bay antenna.

The circumstances under which the equipment allegedly went missing, as well as the exact nature of the transaction said to have resulted in their alleged sale, were not fully established in the information available.

Bosiako’s previous association with Western FM has brought additional attention to the matter. He reportedly served as General Manager of Western 100.9 FM before leaving the station and subsequently taking up a presenting role at Almighty 103.7 FM.

The alleged incident has therefore generated interest within Ghana’s media industry, particularly because of Bosiako’s previous managerial position at the station whose equipment is at the centre of the allegations.

Western FM is part of the Angel Broadcasting Network, popularly known as ABN Ghana, a media group associated with businessman Dr Kwaku Oteng. The network operates a number of radio stations across Ghana, including Angel FM and Pure FM.

At the time of the reported arrest, however, details regarding any formal complaint lodged against Bosiako, the specific criminal allegations being investigated and whether he had been formally charged were not contained in the information available.

The report also indicated that the matter may have a more complicated background than a straightforward allegation of theft or unauthorised sale of company property.
