Torric Jibrin launches scathing attack on Avram Grant for ignoring Egypt-based players

Young Ghanaian player Torric Jebrin has accused Black Stars coach Avram Grant for overlooking players based in Egypt who he claims merit a call up for next week’s  2018 World Cup qualifier match between Ghana and Egypt.

According to Torric who plays for Egyptian top tier side Ismaily, the Israeli’s 23-man list for the qualifier game should have included certain players in the Egyptian league.

The former Hearts of Oak wizkid believes players like Nana Poku who also plays for Ismaily and Emmanuel Banahene who is top scorer for Misr Al-Maqassa  merited call ups but were overlooked by Grant.

Grant’s 23-man shortlist included two debutants Alhassan Wakaso (Rio Ave) and Andy Yiadom of Barnsley apart from a very familiar list.

”Of course the national team should have taken a look at us, we have several good players from Ghana playing in Egypt like Nana Poku and Emmanuel Banahene,” the lad told Kingfut.com

Insisting on his point, Torric claimed that he had made these same comments on several interview platforms in Ghana which got people wondering at the time.

”Even when I was on vacation in Ghana doing interviews, I said the same and people were wondering. We should have definitely gotten a look for this match.”

The two teams (Ghana and Egypt) face off at the Borg El-Arab Stadium in Alexandria on 13 November despite a reported attack plan on Ghana’s Israeli coach by Egyptian fans who do not want Israeli’s in Egypt.
