Yaw Preko acting head coach of Nigerian Premier league club Ifeanyi Ubah has tipped Ghana to win the AFCON 2017 trophy.

According to the former Hearts of Oak assistant trainer, the Black Stars can win the ultimate at the AFCON tourney if adequate preparation is in put in place.

He also noted the increase in support for the team recently considering the fact that support for the senior national team took a nose-dive after the money-in-plane saga in Brazil during the 2014 World Cup.

Most Ghanaian football faithfulls have expressed disgust and disinterest for the team owing to the players’ demand for bomuses to be paid them during the Brazil World Cup.

Some have accused the team of holding the country to ransom while for others, the indifference for the team  has steadily become hatred.

Mr Preko who was part of the Ghanaian team that won the bronze medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona has however stated that he feels that the diminished support for the team is coming back and they will be on course to winning the tournament if measures are put in place.

“I’ve been watching their training on the net and even how the supporters are cheering the players on is something I have not seen in a long time, I have some strong belief that the team with right preparation can win trophy,” he said in an interview with Asempa FM.
