Asante Kotoko’s frustration in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League deepened after they were held to a goalless draw by Berekum Chelsea at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Backed by their home supporters, the Porcupine Warriors controlled much of the match, dominating possession and dictating the tempo. But once again, they struggled where it mattered most, failing to convert their superiority into goals and dropping valuable points in the title race.
The result leaves Kotoko six points adrift of the league leaders, a gap that will concern fans hoping to see their side mount a sustained push up the table.
Chelsea, meanwhile, were content to absorb pressure and play on the counter. Despite seeing far less of the ball, Samuel Boadu’s side created the clearer chances, registering six shots in total, three of which posed serious questions for the Kotoko defence.
For Chelsea, the point does little to ease their overall worries. They remain 16th in the standings, still inside the relegation zone, but will take encouragement from a disciplined performance away from home.
Kotoko now turn their attention to a tricky away trip to Bibiani, where they face GoldStars in their next league outing. Chelsea, on the other hand, will look to build on this result when they host Swedru All Blacks in their next fixture, hoping to turn resilience into much-needed wins.
