Spain and Argentina are set to battle for football’s biggest prize in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final later today, with both nations chasing history in what promises to be a captivating showdown.

Spain secured their place in the final with a composed 2-0 victory over France in the semi-finals, while defending champions Argentina produced a dramatic comeback, scoring twice late on to defeat England and book their place in the title decider.

For Argentina, the final presents an opportunity to retain the World Cup crown they won in Qatar in 2022 and become back-to-back world champions. Spain, meanwhile, are aiming to lift the trophy for the second time after their triumph in South Africa in 2010.
